Our institution was started in the name of Thavathiru Santhalinga Adigalar Nursery school in the year 1977 and later it was upgraded as Gnanambikai Matriculation School and recognized by the government of Tamilnadu in the academic year 1989.

It was started mainly to provide English Educational facilities for Perur and nearly villages. Now it has grown upon leaps and bounds and the 13th batch is going to appear for the public matriculation examination in this march.

Thavathiru Santhalinga Adigalar Perur Atheenam runs our school. Our swamiji Thavathiru Santhaliga Ramaswamy Adigalar is very kind to guide the staff and students in all manners. Our Elayapattam Thavathiru Maruthachala Adigalar always shows his affection and blessings to the students and staff. Our correspondent selvi A.Maragatham aver gal spends her time for the uplift of the institution and leads us in good manner. Our Principal Mrs.N.Arunthathi encourages the teachers in all the academic activities. All the members in our management are working as one family.

Our institution includes meditation, good habits, and proper characterization in proper way and developing them as a true patriotic citizen. Our institution provides way to make the students to have sufficient thinking power, character and habits. We create firm, keen and real interest in the field of education.

The institution always invites the suggestion of the parents by conducting term wise parents - teachers meeting and rectifies their grievances.

The medium of instruction is English. Tamil as second language and Hindi as third language. Students are given opportunities to improve their ability in various fields like extra curricular activities, fine arts, sports, games, meditations and yoga’s.

Students appearing for the Matriculation Public Examinations are well prepared by giving proper coaching.

Our institution is celebrating all the National festivals such as Independence Day, Republic Day, Gandhi Jayanthi and also all the religious festivals like Vinayaga Chadurthi, Kollo, Navarathiri Vizha, Saraswathi Pooja, Pongal, Pavai Vizha in grand manner which helps the students to get knowledge and know the importance of our religious customs.

The institution encourages the students to bring out their hidden talents by distributing prizes every year during Annual Day, Sports Day celebration. Cent percent attendance, merit scholars and good disciplined students are being awarded.

Special care is taken by the teachers for the flourishment of the institution and attaining cent percent result. Our aim is to improve various personalities in the students and make them good patriotic citizen to build up a good nation.
